The world is constantly evolving and I do believe that we are helping it thrive. The amount of positive energy is massive in our world at the moment; but it is silent, more silent than hate. Hate is loud, it is messy it is destructive. Yet, as hate tries to remove our peace, others are piecing the world back together. They are creating beautiful devices, combating mental health, curing diseases, feeding the hungry. Lets give positivity a voice.

Is Radicalisation Brainwashing?

Whilst working in a school in North London last term, I was delivering the radicalisation workshop, a child asked me ‘is radicalisation like being brainwashed?’ followed by ‘are you tricked into being a terrorist?’.

It knocked me back initially, and I almost caught myself saying ‘it is like being brainwashed’ or ‘yes, you get piled with information until you think the only answer is terrorism and violence’. Yet, I held back a second and thought about it.

New Year: Keep Inspiring

People underestimate how much a few words can speak to our soul. Can touch us in ways a whole novel isn’t able to. Those two lines, four lines, ten words; they are more than words on paper. They are an ethos, a beautiful, unique message to our souls that says ‘change something’ or ‘you are okay’ or ‘you are unique, celebrate it’. They are able to let your imagination create the rest. Your ability to listen to the deepest worries in others hearts is special to humanity. We can articulate, express and empathise with each other. This blog today is meant to talk about the new year, yet I first want to address just how special we all are. That there is no one above another, no one below the other. We hold onto what we want to believe in, whether it is a beautiful song lyric, a poem, a quote from an inspirational speaker, or just words from a friend who convinced us that we are worth it.
